Symposium "Peat-free substrates" on 15. and 16.10.2021 by Nature in the Garden

On 15.10.2021, the symposium "Peat-free substrates" of "Nature in the Garden" will be held in Gmünd, Lower Austria and ONLINE.

Participation is possible in presence and via Zoom.

What are the advantages of peat-free substrates? How can we convince hobby gardeners to care for their plants without peat? What needs to be considered when dealing with peat-free substrates? And what are the experiences and the state of knowledge in peat-free culture management in production horticulture?

These questions are addressed by the two-day symposium "Peat-free substrates" within the framework of the Interreg V-A Austria-Czech Republic project.

With presentations by selected experts, the symposium on the morning of October 15th will focus on the path to peat removal in hobby horticulture. In the subsequent exchange groups, the topics of the lectures will be discussed with the speakers.
In the afternoon the lectures are around the culture guidance in peat-free production horticulture. Also there will be the opportunity to discuss in the exchange groups - we look forward to the experiences and contributions of our participants.

On the second day we go on an excursion to the moors of Austria. We will visit the Schrems raised bog in Lower Austria and the Tanner bog in Upper Austria. There will be a guided tour in both bogs.
