Soil Campaign launched

On April 13, 2007 the campaign „Our soil- upon which we stand!“ was launched. In the course of the event at the Seiringer compost plant at Wieselburg, five male and female mayors, representing the five Lower Austrian regions, as well as the mayor of the host municipality were awarded a soil plate. The responsible Landesrat Josef Plank, Grad. Eng.: It is the target to facilitate a variety of different claims for usage of soil by means of a sustainable soil strategy. This means to Lower Austria: Yes, we will develop settlements in a regulated manner, yes, we stand for soil and environment-friendly cultivation of land, and yes, we realize the important role of soil as a water storage tank in the field of preventive flood protection.
